CrossFit Coach
I found CrossFit in 2012. That was the year I had just moved to DelCo from New York City and I was searching for a fitness community. I have a dance background in hip hop, jazz, and cultural folk dance choreography, and I spent my whole life trained to see movement as a form of art and storytelling. With only weeks into relocating to PA, I decided to walk into a Crossfit box and take my first class. I fell in love with the sport and saw it as complex as the art of dance! The focus and discipline shared by members, the subtle cues that teach you to connect your mind and body, and the community mindset that helps you to create a more powerful engine from within than you would by doing it alone were all things that had me hooked.
Rushing to the last CrossFit class after work didn’t feel like a task, it felt like the reward to myself after a busy day!Since then, the methodology stayed with me – I did CrossFit through 3 pregnancies and postpartum journeys, a medical leave for my son, and the Covid pandemic. It helped me to become the best version of myself so that I could give my family 100% during life’s biggest challenges.
I love the scalability that makes working out accessible to every athlete, as well as the varied movements from weightlifting to gymnastics that give people a new goal to tackle. With 11 years of Crossfit under my belt, I have become passionate about helping others to achieve fitness goals as we gracefully age and to take ownership of their health through life transitions.
I'm also energized by CrossFit competitions and the experience that community events provide to push athletes beyond their perceived capabilities. I look forward to supporting members in their own journeys to become the best version of themselves! When I’m not in the gym, you can find me cheering for my kids at practices & games with my husband, working as a career educator for young adults, and participating in CrossFit competitions...you can find me wearing a DelVal shirt at local comps!
